Fall Break Robotics Camp: VEX IQ LEVEL UP
This is a 5-day camp. It starts at 10am and ends at 3pm, Monday-Friday, October 12-16, 2026. Recommended age is 8-14.
Build. Test. Improve. Get Competition Ready!
This Fall Break, students will dive into the world of VEX IQ Competition Robotics and build a robot specifically designed for this year's game, LEVEL UP.
Working in small teams, students will go through the engineering process of designing, building, testing, and improving a competition-oriented robot. They will explore how drivetrain design, gears, mechanisms, weight distribution, speed, strength, and efficiency can affect a robot's performance on the competition field.
This is more than a robot-building camp. Students will work like a real robotics team. They will make design decisions, solve engineering challenges, test their ideas, analyze what works and what doesn't, and iterate their robot to make it stronger and more effective for the LEVEL UP game.
What Students Will Experience
Build a VEX IQ robot designed for the LEVEL UP competition
Design and refine drivetrains and game-specific mechanisms
Develop strategies based on the challenges of the LEVEL UP game
Experiment with gears, speed, torque, stability, and mechanical efficiency
Build and test scoring and game-manipulation mechanisms
Continuously test, troubleshoot, and improve the robot
Work collaboratively in small robotics teams
Learn what it takes to prepare a robot for VEX IQ competition
Almost Ready for Competition
By the end of Fall Break Camp, teams will have a well-developed starting competition robot designed specifically for LEVEL UP and close to being competition-ready.
Students who participate will gain valuable experience with the same design, testing, teamwork, and iteration process used by competitive robotics teams. The camp is also a great opportunity for students who are considering joining a VEX IQ competition team.
Build a robot. Solve problems. Work as a team. Get ready to compete!
Limited spots available — students work in small teams to maximize hands-on building and coaching.
